Larry Porter’s view on the trio tradition is less spectacular than rather subtle and tricky, yet he immediately catches our ears with impressionistic moods and an eye-blinking rendering of Monkish-music. If anyone hadn’t known before, March Blues definitely proves, that pianist/composer Larry Porter is second to none of the more spotlighted musicians in the same genre.
