Jazz lovers remember Bobby Jones
from his work with the Charles Mingus band. In the early
70's Jones did several recordings and tours with Mingus.
After a dispute with the bandleader, Jones left the group
and settled down in Munich. Together with Dusko Goykovich
he formed his own band called "Summit". Due to
his serious illness (that also caused his early death) he
had to quit playing. "Hill County Suite"
documents some of Bobby Jones best playing. Especially
his beautiful clarinet tone is outstanding. This
recording is a musical high-light from the enja
